I was happy with the way the game started. It's fresh, for me at least. I haven't watched the last few seasons.

The 4 teams and the hidden immunity will make it interesting I think.

That said, I was very disappointed with tribal council last night.

The "Older Women" group voted off their strongest member, a member that could help them win challenges and help feed and shelter them. I'm baffled as to why they didn't vote off the member that stated she was scared of leaves.

I liked the older Survivors better when it was more literally about survival. The focus now seems to be only about politics. It gets boring.

A new Survivor starts in Septemeber! It was filmed in the Pearl Islands this summer and premieres on September 14. Just thought I'd mention it in case there were any other die hard fans about. And I can remember when I turned my nose up at this show and thought it was a foolish concept. :disbelief

Not sure how this one will go over considering they are separating by race, they will have 4 teams, one white, one black, one latino and one asian. I am sure this is going to cause an uproar on so many levels.

It's going to be interesting, the outcome of this set up, I mean, not necessarily the competition. I know it's mostly for publicity purposes and that people knew what they were getting into when they signed up. Still, there's a bit of a squick factor there.

From what I read the division into racial teams is only initially, and then they mix it up again. Sounds like they're just trying out something new, and that's cool.

I don't think splitting the teams up by race is a good idea, even initially. Don't we have enough separation of the races already?

Yeah, I don't see the need of doing that anymore too. As far as I know the show is trying to win back the viewers they had lost overtime because they feel the challenges every season are the same that just makes use of other tools in other locations. I for one believe that Survivor is a great show, that's why it survived right? :)

Thinking about it, it's not really that much different than having tribes based on age and sex. It's just the way we react, which, of course, is exactly what the producers were counting on. I suppose it's hard to keep thinking of new twists to your formula or, at least, new twists that are actually exciting.

Well, the racial division didn't last that long, and I'm really enjoying this season. Then again...I like it every session.
