Have I already mentioned that O'Reilly is an idiot? In my opinion, of course.

OK, He's been pushing this "culture war" for a long time now. It's the "traditionalists" versus the "progressive secularists" in Bill's warped brain. First off, "progressive secularists" is a politically charged misnomer. Not all secularists are progressives, not that there's anything wrong with being a progressive. Of course rich white Christian men like O'Reilly don't see any need for change, given that society has treated them with the utmost kindness for hundreds of years.

So now he's ranting about the PS's ("progressive secularists") agenda:
Removing "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance
Gay marriage
Pro-choice
Euthanasia
Legalized drugs

The traditionalists, on the other hand, according to Bill believe that the country was "well founded" and no big changes are needed.

Right, so secularists don't believe the country was well-founded, even though all of the above agenda is in line with the Constitution as it was written, no amendments necessary. In fact, it's the Christian Right who called for an Constitutional Amendment to ban gay marriage and some even want an amendment to ban abortion. Which group is honoring the founders?

BTW, the Pledge was written in 1892 by Pastor Francis Bellamy, who later quit the church on grounds of racism. "Under God" was added in 1954. Who's the "progressive"?

Some "secularist" group took out an ad in the New York Time or some big paper denouncing Ralph Reed, James Dobson and Louis Sheldon as being in bed with Jack Abramoff, accepting money from him. Bill verified one of the facts stated in the ad and said he will research the others, but doesn't know yet whether they're true. A few minutes later, James Dobson was on and O'Reilly said the ad was "obviously untrue", even though minutes earlier the only information he could verify one way or the other was in favor of the facts presented in the ad.

James Dobson, BTW, heads up Focus on the Family, a fundamentalist Christian organization designed to force their version of Christianity on everyone by redefining the Constitution. Samuel Alito wrote Dobson a letter, which Dobson publicized, thanking him for his support. Why did Dobson publish the letter if not to demonstrate that he has Alito's ear?

Hi Wiley,

I have to agree with you about Bill's insessant harping on this so-called culture war. It seems everybody wants to be a victim, even rich, white men. Poor Bill has to live in a country where other people can have and voice different opinions than his.

He really does do a lot of spinning on this particular topic.
