Season 2 begins:

Premiere is 06/12/06

This is another show I like to watch. Not so sure I would want to be on it though!

I found this on Celebrity Spider:

"Throughout its run, HELL’S KITCHEN ranked No. 1 in its time period among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens and experienced gains at the half-hour among key demos, including +12% among Adults 18-49 and +10% among Total Viewers."

I love that show, though I really didn't want Mr Tatoo to win. And Hells Kitchen is such an appropriate name.

Hi Daydreamer and welcome to Livewire! If you need anything please feel free to let me know. I agree with you on the language. One of those shows I can watch but I would never have the guts to go through with it. I would be the one crying if I was yelled at..LOL.

Wow, thanks for the heads up on Hell's Kitchen, Debby!

I'm a big fan of Gordon Ramsay. I first saw him on telly in England when he was put under hidden camera surveillance for a show called "The Worst Boss in England" or something like that. He is not acting on HK, that's really how he is. The show was a sensation, and Ramsay went on to fame and glory as a media star as a result.

I've come to respect him a lot though, through another series he does in the UK called Ramsay's Kitchen Nighmares, where he visits failing restaurants and helps them get back on their feet. We see far more of Ramsay's real self on that show. Although he's certainly foul mouthed and doesn't pull any punches, he's also very supportive, and really works his heart out to help these people. Sometimes he succeeds and sometimes he doesn't, but the shows are funny, entertaining, and definitely a lot to learn from a true perfectionist and pro.

Actually, of all the shows he's in, I like Hell's Kitchen the least, but I still like it a lot, and will be watching.

I just finished watching the Next Food Network Star contest, that was pretty interesting too. I like these food competitions, I'm an armchair competitor myself. I'm a pretty cocky cook, an ex-chef myself, but I have to admit that some of the talent I see on these shows does really humble me.

I think I could take on Ramsay though, I doubt that he would rattle me. I know he's just a good hearted Teddy Bear underneath it all! He really just wants everyone to be a winner, and as good at what they do as he is.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
I would cry if Gordon Ramsey shouted at me:bigcry:
I am a big American Idol fan as well, but as I live in the UK I have to wait until Friday to watch it

I've always seen the previews for this show, but didn't know what to make of it. I too would cry if someone yelled at me like that. I guess I could never work for someone like that. So the overall reviews on this show is it's a good one to watch, is that correct? When is it on? Maybe I'll have to start watching :D.

Oh I cannot wait for this season to start even though I cannot imagine working for that man and taking that kind of abuse to learn how to be a chef! I cringed at some of the things that he did last year and they say its nothing compared to what this year has in store so I am getting out my popcorn and waiting anxiously until Monday for it to get started.
The teams are men versus women this year. I wonder if Ramsey will be harder on the women than the men? He seemed to be that way last year in my opinion even though he was hard on everyone!
Anyone want to make a wager on who will do better as far as the teams go?
Men or Women? '
Come on Gang Speak UP!

I also think he was harder on the women than men. BUT, one never knows! He may reverse it just to mix things up a bit. Ha, someone else who gets thier stuff together to watch people get ripped apart! You'd think I was moving in front of the TV. I have to make sure everything is right there so I don't miss a single thing.

I watched last night missed part of the first episode but caught the second hour on. I was not disappointed. Ramsey is as bad as he was last year if not worse!
One thing I do wonder is are the diners actually paying customers? Or are they people who the TV show brings in? If they are actual paying customers I would think that they would be far more upset than they show on the TV after waiting for 3 hours to get a meal then have to walk out!
Anyone else know or have any ideas on this?

Hmm, I don't know the answer to this one. But its defiantly worth the search! Thanks for bringing up that question. I didn't see it last night. I actually forgot it was on!

I wondered about that last year. All those people sitting for hours for food and then he would shut the kitchen down and they would have to leave. I almost got down in the floor laughing at the people last year that had a pizza delivered rigth there in the resturant. It was too funny!

I cant wait to see tomorrow nights episode to see how much more terrorizing Ramsey does of the candidates. I almost cringe when I say that because I am usually not such a sadist :)

I watched this for the first time last night and I watched 2 episodes in a row. Are those reruns? Anyway, it was really good and almost painful to watch. There sure is a lot of swearing and bleeping going on, lol.

Yup. They show last week's episode at 8:00 and then the new one follows at 9:00. Except this week, I think. The promos are calling it a two hour finale so I'm hoping for two new hours. Frankly, I don't think either of those women is ready to run a kitchen but I'm so delighted Keith didn't make the final two that I don't care who wins, though I'm pulling for Heather. As odd as she seemed sometimes, she seems more together than Virginia.
