I absolutely love The Apprentice.. im addicted to it. Im into marketing and business and all those boring things, perhaps thats why i like this show!
Also I think Trump is great.
Never watched the Martha Stewart Apprentice though!

Martha had nothing on Donald I caught a few minutes of some of the segs of her show and it was totally boring and no wonder it got cancelled before the first season was complete.
It will be interesting to see the new season in Jan as it will be moved to LA I wonder what he has up his sleeve for the next one.
I was disappointed in this season about one thing.. The network touted it was "international" I was under the impression the candidates would be from other countries. Turned out a few of the candidates were from other countries but lived here for years and set up biz here.
That was a big deceptive in my opinion.

What the Martha Stewart show based on? Ie what did the contestants have to do, was it cooking related?

I dont really like Trump, I think he is an arrogant pig, or is that just the act he puts on for the show??

Most of Marthas tasks were related to interior designs and catering etc. They were not per se cooking. Fashion related. She was even more arrogant than he was from what I saw and never cracked a smile or even acted like she had any emotions.
Trump can be very visious but I think that is a draw for some people!

Trump could be half way interesting just because we all love to hate him!
Martha takes herself way too seriously anymore, and although I've never been a huge fan of hers, I admired her to an extent. But her ego is so different from Trump's and not very interesting.

For what it's worth, the UK version of The Apprentice is really good. A businessman named Sir Alan Sugar who is sort of a street version of Trump.
I like him best because he's a real street kid and much rougher than Trump.

My favorite episide of The Apprentice was when they had to come up with an advertising campaign for the new Lamborghini. Gee the marketing people from Lambo were hard nosed!
Very picky and serious people.. was quite funny seeing the group trying to impress them :D

Ok, I've been itching to chime in on this one, thanks for opening the thread, Dan!

I fell in love with the Apprentice first season. I think it's gone downhill from there, mainly due to the quality of the candidates. No group has come close to the first one as far as intelligence and interest, IMO. I found it hard to remember who the candidates even are 15 minutes after the show is over this season. Of course no one could ever forget ....um, what's his name, the fat guy? :D You just know that he was meant to be this season's Omorosa. (sp?) but not a chance!

Like you, Dan, I love the business object lessons. IMO, all of life is about marketing, we're all constantly marketing ourselves in one way or another, so there's a lot to be learned from the show that is simply pragmatic. Also, like you, I've been in marketing as a business most of my life, so I'm always trying to come up with my own strategies for each of the tasks. We have DVR, and we pre-record the shows so we can stop them and discuss what we would do. It's a hoot! And of course, we win every time! :woohoo:

As to The Donald, I don't know him, and we know he's the King of Marketing, but I like what I see on the show. His kids were enchanting this season, IMO, and that says a lot for the guy.

I doubt that I would greatly enjoy working for him on a day to day basis, but I would most definitely welcome the opportunity to spend a few hours with him chatting and sharing a bottle of world class wine that he paid for! Oh WTH, I'd pay for it myself, it would be worth it.

I believe that there is benefit in being in the proximity of any master in any field, because these are humans who have really aced some aspect of life's challenges. It doesn't make them gods, but it does make them worthy of knowing and experiencing. The Apprentice gives us a peek at a master, and I have been throroughly enjoying the experience. Love him or hate him, the guy has truly "trumped" at one part of life. (pun intended).

Now, let's hope that we see some better candidates next season. I really didn't care a hoot who won this last one. At the end, it had to be Sean, it wasn't even a contest, so it was a tad boring for me as far as the competition went this season. The challenges are always great though, IMO.

Dan and All Apprentice Fans!

You should be aware that there is also a British Apprentice which features one Sir Alan Sugar as the Brit version of Donald Trump. It just completed it's second season, which was far, far more exciting and interesting than the past Trump Apprentice, IMO.

If I get around to it I'm going to see if I can score a radio interview with the woman who came in second. She was so fantastic, brilliant, and awesome, it was a mind blower that she lost. I don't think there's been one American Apprentice who could hold a candle to her.

The common opinion on the matter is that she lost out to the sex appeal of the tiny blonde who ended up winning, and that was a huge bummer!! Shame on you, Sir Alan, you dirty old git!! :D

If you're as true an Apprentice addict as I am, I can tell you where to find the Brit Apprentice. Sir Alan makes The Donald look like a panty waist, I can tell you that. He's one seriously gruff individual. As he describes himself, "I'm the most belligerent individual you will ever meet."

He also says in the opening segment "This is a job interview, it's not about you coming here and pissing my money up the wall." The guy really comes out with some lines, let me tell you! But you gotta love him in the end if you appreciate frankness, which some of you might have figured out, I very much do.

The whole show is much grittier than the US Apprentice, and it's a great peek into our sister country as well. Maybe next season they owe us to have a Yank in the competition!

Cheerio Mates!

Nico ...quite right on Sir Alan!

He's much better than Trump and more fun to watch. You never know what he's going to come out with!

I thought Ruth would win it until that one moment when the other one mentioned how she supported her family, and Sir Alan melted. He was so obvious at that moment and sort of vunerable ...something Trump would edit out completely!

I am secretly in love with The Donald, for some reason I find him sexy as heck, specially when he squints his eyes. I'm serious, I think he is HOT HOT HOT!!!

And I have to say his daughter that was on the show is gorgeous.

Trump isn't a bad looking guy at all, but the hair do really puts me off! Geeze, he could do a lot better than it is, don't you think?

The Donald said that no animals were harmed in the production of his hair.

Well I think that the hair and the absurdity of it is one of his trademarks lol and I doubt he changes it now

Also I dont know if you saw the episode they did about the hair cutting salon but he made mention of the fact that his hair was one of the most talked about things about him. He seemed really proud of it as well

I remember reading that about Trump and his hair, but it doesn't help looking at it! LOL.

No doubt, it's his trademark as much as anything else these days, and with his success I can't criticize it too much!

Oh god.. are you ok?
haha you are scaring me

Now I am a man, but even so, I can plainly see that Donald Trump IS NOT an attractive man!! :disbelief

I think you just have dollar signs in front of your eyes :D

"Power the is greatest aphrodisiac" ...quote attributed to Henry Kissinger but he admits lifting it from someone else. He's right too ...

Trump isn't the world's most handsome guy but he isn't the worst either. Now somebody like Yasser Arafat ...now there was an ugly guy! He actually had a very pretty wife too.

Not fair!! I find Trump to be attractive too. His looks are average, once you get used to the hair, but he's extremely charismatic and he has a way of pulling people in. On the show, even the guys act like they have a crush on The Donald.

Attractiveness is an illusive quality, but Trump has it!

I'm with you on this one LH. I like that shot of Trump at the beginning of the show where he's walking off an airplane, I think, and he has that sexy squint!

It's not just about money with Trump. He has money because he's attractive, not vice/versa. He didn't start out so rich. :worthy:

Dan I assure you I am fine, thanks for asking though.:) My taste in men run from one extreme to the other, I think Bob Dylan is a heart throb, and Gordon Ramsey is hot . And if Ben Murphy, even at his age ever gave me the time of day I would faint away.:) And lets not forget what a doll baby Al Gore is.

I am also one that swore when I was a kid that I would marry Bobby Sherman.:D

Hope I'm not scaring you too much.:)

I hate Donald Trump as well. He is so incredibly arrogant. It is interesting to watch The Apprentice to see how these people work together. They obviously all have some talent, but some of them really end up looking like pinheads.

Everytime I see Donald Trump I always want to laugh. I get to imagine the impersonators that follow the way he moves his mouth! Isn't that funny? Why does he speak that way? It makes me giggle! Donald Trump doesn't need a show like this to earn money but it's just for show.

I have watched several episode of the apprentice and I must say it is good in a certain way because it was indeed entertaining, but for the apprentices themselves it was kinda humiliating and degrading. But of course it's part of the show and part of the business arena. One gets to be chosen out of the million applicants of today. Surely life is tough and Donald Trump has his own way of making it tougher.
