Hi, I am a retired Ironworker from Local#7 Boston. I will be leaving for Moeroeville Al. Monday morning I will be traveling Ma. Pike to rt. 84, going through Ct. -New York,-Pa. will be staying in Pa. Monday night.
ON the way I will be collecting donations and contrubutions of the following items.
1. can good (flip top)
2. boxed food
3. bottled water and juices
4.cleaning supplies
5. baby items (baby wipes, diapers,baby powder, children aspirin, cough syrup,shoes and sneakers, socks crayons coloring books,story books
6. new underwear,all sizes
7. toiletries, (soap, shampoos,tooth paste,tooth brushes,deodorant, combs and brushes,purell,ect)
8. Flashlights and battieries
9.writing papers,stamps envelopes,pens and pencils
10. small toys
My intentions is to load my truck with small items until I get close to Moeroeville at which time I will rent a u-haul trailer and will load with bigger items. My plan is to coordinate pick up areas as I travel south. I have letters of reference from James Brown the Business Manager of Ironworkers Local #7 Boston Ma. tel 617-268-4777 and from the Mayor of Somerville, Ma.,Joseph Curtatone tel. (617-625-6600) ask for Mayor's Office
These officials endorce my efforts to accept donations and contributions on behalf of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. My first drop of supplies will be a Church in Monroeville,Al. tel number is 251-947-4362, they now have about one hundred victims of Katrina
