MICHELLE: Updated info

This is being done by Michelle. THANKS! SO MUCH :)

I spoke with the aunt of my friend, who is in New York. The line was so bad when I spoke with my friend's sister that I got information wrong. She is in a shelter either alone, or with one sister, Betty, in Texas. So forget a shelter in LA!

The aunt is trying to find housing thru FEMA and other organizations for them. Mike from this board has offered his assistance in transportation and housing. I think that if my friend will come out here, we can get her a plane ticket to live with me. One person, esp this friend, I can support with help from agencies until on her feet. I can only really take one though and she has two sisters and a nephew.

So we shall see. I will call all the shelters in Texas I guess. I heard the cities 'Arcana' and 'Dallas' and that's all we know so far as to where they may be.

So I shall be free soon to come back here and help others I see you guys have been busy updating the listings for her- THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's such a help.

My friend is found. She is in a place in Gonzales, Louisiana. What I need now, while I wait for a call back and to get through on the phone lines to her is:

Someone to search for my entries all over the net where I posted her and her family as missing, and to report her as SAFE.

I need information on this place in Gonzales. It is not listed on any shelter list so maybe it is a church, etc. If anyone can call the local government [thank you Nico good idea] and find out where they're keeping evacuees from New Orleans, that would be SO helpful.

I am contacting Mike from THIS BOARD who wants to go down to the area and transport here to Oregon, where I am. My friend comes with two sisters ;)

I won't know more until I speak with my friend. Congratulations for making a difference to this board, and all you peeps. Happy day for many of us in finding our friends and loved ones and acquaintances.

If you can go and report her as safe, please do so. Don't wait. Just go lookin!

OH thank you Debby! I really appreciate your help.

I had updated my post but for some reason this one didnt take? I updated the other two cross posts and they did. They shipped my friend out to Texarkana, Texas. So she was in Gonzales, I guess, and I will check your numbers there and ask them where exactly in Texarkana they sent her. VERY HELPFUL still. Red cross is searching for her in Texas. I expect to hear soon, but I dont like to wait so shall indeed call these numbers.

You're a blessing but stop looking now. I left a message for the lady who has the list of shelters and names in Texarkana so that should do it along with a call the Gonzales. Hope.

I will be putting these shelters up in the forum tho... forwarding it, rather, to Franklin. :)

I gave you a call a few hours ago about your request for help posting the message that your friend and the others were safe. I hope you have been able to talk with them by now. I am so glad to hear they are safe! I was able to post your message update to about 15 different sites so the word will get out there. I did not post it to the sites where they required me to sign up as there were just too many of them. Anyway, you are all in my prayers for healing, peace, and whatever else you all may need in this tragic time. Here is a small prayer for you, it has helped me in times of distress:

"O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.

O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself. I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord."

God bless and keep you all safe. If there is anything else that I can do for you, please let me know.

Michelle. Can I solicit your help again? I cannot believe that ONE PERSON is so hrd to find! I'm getting very impatient. I could have had her out of a shelter and in my home, or SOMEONE's home, right away.

I have contacted Red Cross of the Texarkana, Texas area so many times. I have filled out reports. Done everything to find her. Can you help me post again? I am thinking, because her sister saw my original post and contacted me, maybe she'll see it again or Comateta herself will and I can help them. I cannot login to Nola forums still and despite attempts to contact them no go. So I know you can get in.

If you could post this message:

SUBJECT:
Comateta Clifton I Can Help

BODY:
Comateta Clifton, and/or sister Betty Clifton, please contact Adrienne (Whata) Lilley at 541-291-0517; email whatamuse@yahoo.com

She has homes and transportation for you and is FRANTIC to hear from you. Cell phone numbers given to her from Shelia Clifton are not working. She needs to know WHAT shelter you are at; Red Cross has not been able to locate you. Last known whereabouts: Shelter in Texarkana, Texas. Possible transferred from Gonzales, Louisiana.

Comateta and family are known to be SAFE but should NOT have to stay in a shelter when housing and trasnportation are available! Thank you.

SO yeah that's what I want to post. I will start but as I said, Nola is a no-no for some obscure reason and that's such a main one. Any help Michelle, or anyone, is much appreciated.
