Hurricane Victims Missing Pet Registry

IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) is working
with the United Animal Nations' Emergency Animal Rescue Service
and Code 3 Associates, Inc. to send a 78-foot hurricane disaster-relief
and animal rescue mobile unit to rescue animal victims and reunite them
with their families.

We are collecting rescue requests from evacuees and others who are
unsure of the whereabouts of their animals. Those requests are daily
being
compiled with requests reported to other organizations with whom we are
coordinating to form a master database. Once teams are deployed, these
requests will be forwarded to those in the area who can perform rescue
efforts.
If you need to report a lost animal please fill out the form at the
following URL:

For those who were required to evacuate the disaster areas. If they
have companion animals that were left behind,
please have them contact the
Best Friends Hurricane center: hurricane@bestfriends.org
(435)644-3965 Ext. 4455
We are compiling a list of animals in need to distribute to people
on the ground rescuing stranded animals

If you encounter hurricane victims with pets in Memphis, have them
contact MSCHS at (901) 276-7770. Unfortunately, MSCHS has only two
lines,
so most callers will have to leave a message. Make sure to stress that
they
leave a number where their call can be returned--many cell phones from
affected areas are not able to receive incoming calls. MSCHS is taking
calls
for MOST ALL PETS including horses and exotic animals.
