Good Day Livewires!
Ok, down to business!
On the interviews....who we need to interview TODAY, if possible. (Debby, it's all about your schedule for starters.):
Contacts on the ground who can provide information on where today's NO evacuees are being sent. The news is that there are 200 buses being dispatched to start moving people out, because there is danger of the city flooding AGAIN.
The big story for the day is what is going to happen to these people, and what is really happening down there.
Contacts at shelters nearby to get an evaluation of the impact of further evacuees showing up, and who can tell us what those shelters need, and how we can get it to them.
It's an amazing frustration to try to get the full story on what is going on down there today via the news one who can fill us in on that is needed.
So, the question is, who has the time to make phone calls and make arrangements for a few interviews today?
How the interviews will work until we get our equipment set up for live call-in broadcasting is that Debby will conference with me and the person being interviewed, record the call, send it to me and I'll start broadcasting it.
I say me because I'm totally comfortable to do that. Once we have our first model, anyone else who feels comfortable can volunteer to do an interview as well. We'll make mistakes, it's not a problem. I have editing software and can clip out anything that is really bad, but the point is to mine whatever information our interviewee has to share.
Once we have information broadcasting, we'll have to get busy on the crossposting and sending out a bulk email.
I have the email list, and sorry, I now forget who volunteered to send out a bulk mail formatted to show only the address of the recipient, not the full list, and that will not get lost in the spam filters. As I recall one of you mentioned that you know how to do that. If I'm correct, please chirp in again, and my apologies for forgetting!
Because of the impending storm/s I think we need to focus on how that is going to impact the area. Even if it doesn't hit, there is a lot going on in the way of preventative measures, so let's get the word out as to how that is working out, and what's going to be happening in the next few days.
Once we have a more clear picture, we can decide what else we need to do.
That's my proposed focus for today, all input is welcomed!!
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm thinking that we'd better get ourselves tightly organized and focused today!!
I'm sending this out as e-mail too.
Please make sure to respond if you can, and let us know if and how you can plug in to getting interviews set up, emailing, or crossposting.
And, for those reading along, if you'd like to plug in, please email me at: NicoMoon@livewire.fm
Let's Roll!
Many thanks,
Nico
