***PLEASE NOTE THAT NICO HAS A NEW RITA UPDATE FORUM LOCATED AT MEETING OF THE MINDS***PLEASE GO TO THAT FORUM FOR THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION***

ALL LIVEWIRE.FM MEMBERS AND GUESTS:

I found this site at

http://www.live-radio.net/us.shtml

which gives live radio feeds across the Nation. You can pick a state (TX or LA) and it lists all stations that provide live feeds. You can google to find stations in TX and LA that show wattage...you want to pick one with 100,000 watts if you can. Then, match it up with stations available on the link above. We need Louisiana Stations, too, Lake Charles, if we can get the feed. I am currently monitoring KKBQ Houston / Galveston via my Windows Media Player, (you will need Windows Media Player or Real Player for this) with great up to the minute info. KPFT is also 100,000 watt, out of Houston, and will feed from Real Player. As stations go off the air due to the storm, I plan to keep moving inland, picking up new stations. Those that go off the air, if prepared, will have generators, so that they can be back on the air shortly. Format won't dictate (Country, Rock, Top 40, etc.), because all will run in Public Service format (KKBQ is Country, but is doing an excellent job of informing folks, what routes are traffic free, where gas is still available, addresses of folks that need help evacuating, etc.)

If several of us would monitor Stations in Cities in the path of the storm (for as long as weather permits) we could have an "on the ground" handle of what is going on, what the current needs are, what WE can do, etc. In this way, we can keep each other aprised of the ever changing conditions in the area, by which we could devise plans of attack, THEN POST AND CROSSPOST!!!

To those that would prefer, you could monitor the NOAA LIVE National Weather Service Feeds, links are below, then keep us abreast (POST) of the current weather conditions. **PLEASE NOTE, IF ANYONE CAN GET THE NOAA LIVE FEED FROM HOUSTON TO LAKE CHARLES, LA THEN TAKE IT**

Corpus Christi live Weather Feed:

New Orleans live Weather Feed:

If you want to participate, follow thru, then PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT CITY AND STATION YOU ARE MONITORING, ASAP! Rickarenn@aol.com. I've got my little Texas/Louisiana Map ready !!!

Thanks to all,
Karen
