Hi,

Right now, I am at the proverbial 'horse's mouth. I am at the New Orleans Emergency Operations Center. I'll try locate the person(s) who have the authority and get a firm answer.

I will update this post in a few minutes.

bye,
Sparkie

Just asked an important member of the NOPD...New Orleans Police Department and he said "Yes, they are allowing animal rescuers" to move in & out of the city for rescuing.

He also added "their alot of bull**** info flowing around...oops, excuse me". I said the word bull**** is accurate.

I told him that St Bernard has stopped me twice from entering to rescue animals and he asked "Why". ????

I had planned to go to the lower 9th ward in St. Bernard today anyway, we'll see.

Bye, Sparkie

Hi,

I am posting this for Sparkie as she is not near a computer at the moment.
Only Accredited Animal Control Persons are supposed to be working in this area as of Oct.1. By the looks of things this is not being enforced.

There have been some instances of people actually trying to get into houses to try to rescue animals and the returning families are actually inside. Looks like there may be a fear of it looking like a break in or robbery to the families and somebody (rescuer) may get hurt.

Sparkie is getting different answers from the different people that she speaks with.

Thanks,
Debby

**Please note**

St. Bernard Parish is NOT a friendly place to try to get into or be in. Please be advised Sparkie did not have a good experience there. Pretty much told to get out and stay out.

Thanks,
Debby
