Post subject: Project: Let's Roll, Hurricane Relief, Livewire.FM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's Roll Project: Started as a way to give any relief to Katrina. NOw has expanded to cover a specific area for now. We are concentrating all our efforts on animal rescue. We are directly helping to support Winn Dixie AND ARNO-Animal Rescue New Orleans w/ Jane Garrison & David Meyers.

I have meant to get here a long time before. I have been hearing consistantly good things about Petfinder.com. I just joined!

Hello,

I wanted to write to you to tell you about what a new website, on the cutting edge of internet talk radio is doing and why. This website went live weeks ahead of schedule by the husband and wife team, Franklin & Nico. Before they were ready. Why? To concentrate all their efforts on Katrina Relief Effort. That is how I met them. We could no longer sit home and merely watch the news. We had to take action....Get Rolling...Let's Roll!

Due to the great animal rescuers I met in Lake Charles & New Orleans, Livewire.FM narrowed their focus to animal rescuing.

Nico & Franklin, website owners, would one day like to make a profit from this website. But, at the moment, every person and action on it is volunteer. We are spending 10+ hours, 7 days a week. We seem to be working as a fairly well-oiled machine from all different areas of the US. None of us have ever met but we feel close. And this happened over a very short time.

I was hoping you could find time to take a peek at us. Of course would be great if you could give some time, support or assistance.

I understand that you probably are very busy. Maybe you have a suggestion on who else to contact. We are hoping you'll find a little project that interests you or someone you know. Maybe there are groups/organizations in your area that would be interested, such as: Retirees, local high schools/colleges, stay-at-home people and many more.

I was told a story recently by a young woman who's life was pulled out of depression by becoming aware of the need for animal rescuing & taking action!

We would greatly appreciate any assistance. We already have the passion & pretty good synergy! We don't have any $.....only time & heart!

The website went ?live? on 1 Sept 2005. We broadcast radio interviews too!

Here's the main website link: Livewire.FM...that's FM, not com.

I like it...it has the potential to reach a wider based audience then what
petfinder.org has been able to obtain...there's a chat room.

some here have been commenting on trying to find an alternate place
to re-group in the event of hacking problems.

Post subject: Common Cause & Rules on Promoting other Websites-Animal

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your kind comments. We are proud of it. The whole website just evolved. We all work well together but need help. We are putting in easily 10+ hrs, 7 days a week as volunteers. I imagine many of you are too.

Originally I went down to the gulf as Red Cross for huricane Rita. But after 4 days, red cross was forced to be too slowwwwwww so I I self-assigned myself and headed in the Rita disaster area. After travelling from San Antionio to Beaumont & Port Arthur & Orange, Tx, I then spent 3 days in Lake Charles & Cameron in LA. After that I spent 8 days as animal rescue in NOLA.

I wore many hats: 'Rebel' Red Cross/Animal Rescuer/Electrician/Concerned Citizen. It was very rewarding & gratifying. I plan to go back down very soon for a month.

This time I could use a corp/business sponsor. Begging, I mean garnering donations is not a skill of mine yet nor anyone at Livewire.FM.

Does anyone have any garnering tips/advice?

I'm glad I finally made the time to get over here.

Thank you for making me feel welcomed!

Pam

"You may not promote, advertise, or post links to other pet related or pet/animal rescue related message/discussion boards or groups." From your rules list.

I understand this rule if we are trying to commercially compete w/ you. BUT, we are trying to save animal lives here. It is very valuable to share accurate, clear & concise info w/ all active & organized animal rescue groups!

I volunteered to post the direct, confirmed needs/messages for Winn Dixie. I xpost for some of groups too. Many discussion boards/forums are xposting which is valuable to the cause.

The more people have more accurate, up-to-date info the more animals saved & alittle less chaos on the ground for the rescuers....it is a hard situation/"job"---war like conditions.

Livewire.fm does not plan to permanently be involved in the animal world. At this time, our first volunteer compaign is for the animals---the true victims of Katrina+.

I'd like to think we can join forces and all work towards the same goal. Like the volunteers on the ground.

What do you say?

Grassroots organizations are the truly direct & quick connection to giving aid----effective! And I saw many other formal organizations "at work".
